I am happy that 'minors' get awarded to the 'State' so that the pressure is off the parents. It's tough to make such decision for a loved one, even more so for a beloved child.

Having said that, I feel so deeply indoctrinated that if right now I needed blood or an organ transplant to continue living, I would turn both propositions down.

By the way, a lady at my workplace is dealing with extra healthcare issues newly acquired since having a series of blood transfusions.

The blood thing is a complicated matter. No wonder even people, not at all for religious reasons, are turning down using blood.

In the Spanish side of the WTBTS there is a large group of elderly JWs that are feverously praying for the Kingdom to come oh so soon because they know they won't be able to stay afloat financially when they retire. Some already know they'll never be able to retire, period.

Well, they'll just become charity cases, like quite a few already are in the cong, thanks to the wonderful policies of this Org.

Because of this false prophecy fallout, I notice more and more JWs helping their children to obtain higher education. So, at least the this actual generation graduating HS will do better in that regard.

Please check out a GQ's piece in Youtube about the time when the State of Georgia gave powers to the police to request proof of immigration for any infraction and its consequences thereafter.

They sure deported many undocumented immigrants, but what happened to their agriculture, the service industry and their overall economy was disastrous.

People blinded by their unfounded fear and hatred do not realize how much this hurts themselves. Common ignorant behavior, to act against one's own best interest.🤔

Another Burnt Out Elder

young elder(mid-thirties) in my congregation stepped down last night.

nicest guy, with two lovely kids, a great supportive wife.. it got to be too much, as the other elders are practically useless, let him do all the hard work, while they did all the "important" stuff.

literally ran him ragged.. he's still in good standing, gave the final prayer.

Disfellowshipped 2x adultry divorce remarried getting divorce to write my wrong

this is bit hard for me but im lost and don't know what to do.. 2010-married to a disfellowship person after only knowing him 3 months i began studying baptized few months later and he was reinstated same year.. i committed adultry 3-4 times in first 2 years of marriage he forgave me.

he was a recovering alcoholic and fell off wagon hard when i tried to fix my wrong it was way out of hand he moved in drug addicts in the home we fought constantly i tried to get personal studies with a sister to keep going but i failed at that and left my husband i left for another man 2 in half years later im looking to divorce because well what goes around comes around and he committed adultery on me .

i got what was coming for thinking i would live happy ever after.

Sparlock is making his rounds again

i was at the meeting last night and the dreadful video about caleb and sparlock was forced upon the audience.

honestly, i had forgotten how bad it was.

the mother's manipulative over-reaction and caleb's acceptance that his toy was evil.

Saw the presentation at last night's mtg. This is perfectly lined up with the JW beliefs, so nothing new here.

Really liked the ending, where the mother offered to go on a bike ride with the child.

Children want to have fun, so parents have the obligation to substitute fun they feel is not right for a Christian with same amount of real fun that is acceptable according to their lifestyle. Nothing wrong or that will hinder the child's healthy development.

The thing is that most JWs will not do things as presented in the demo. They will be mad with the kids, yell at them, throw their toys in the garbage angrily, not reason with them, punish them, and not provide any other form of fun/entertainment as a substitute. I see it all the time and this is why so many JW children grow up disgruntled.

How much money people usually donate to WT ?

i grew up in the org and never got baptised, however i was wondering recently about how much money my family and old friends are wasting in all that.

.

i remember of course never talking in amounts, that it was important to give from what you can not what you have etc but i admit i have no clue how much the average witness gives (say in % of their income).. i'm sure it varies greatly, i'd love to hear what you guys have to say..

Bills have to get paid at the KH, and all things/events have a price, so we contribute moderately. However, when they read those crazy numbers at the assembly, we never give one more red cent.

No freaking way that $11,000 is the true cost for one day at a location owned by WTBTS. It's a LIE!!!🤥
